“Things to do in Bariloche”

Isla Gourmet
Victoria Island is a universe of mysterious corners and natural attractions. Sailing around its translucent waters you will reach the island of the Cypresses and Coihues trees. While you walk through the path of the island, you will discover isolated beaches and exclusive shores. You will also enjoy a three course elaborated lunch while music will entertain you.
Total time: 7 hours
Estepa Soft
This excursion takes place 40 minutes from Bariloche: we take our own transport to Los Juncos lake, where you will see at-first-hand a huge variety of birds from all over the Patagonian region. Together with our guide-interpreter, you will enjoy a country-side lunch. We will then arrive to Villa Llanquin, a picturesque village on the shores of the Limay River. We then take highway 237, a scenic route back to Bariloche.
Total time: 8 hours.
Frey por el Filo
We meet the guide at 09:30 AM at the Hotel, from here we will move to the base of Cerro Catedral ski area and take a ski-lift that will take us to the top of the mountain.
(2000metres / 6500feet).
From this alpine point, we are ready to start the journey proper: the Edge of Cerro Catedral through the Rucaco Valley. It is slow but easy walking.
No technical expertise is required, but close attention is needed in order to travel safely in this stony area. After a 3 hour-walk passing by high altitude lakes, we arrive to the Frey Refuge where a authentic home-made pizza is served.
When descending the hill, we will visit native forests and encounter superb views of mountain landscapes. This will then arrive back at the base of Cerro Caterdral, completing the tour.
Total time: 9 hours.
Kayak de Travesia - Kayak crossing
The kayak allows you to find majestic Andean Landscapes with different perspectives and sensations.
Various itineraries are available, such as the Nahuel Huapi Lake, Moreno Lake, and Gutierrez Lake. Selection is determined by the time available, the weather conditions as well as the expectations of the customer. Age is not a limiting factor: these programs have been designed for people without previous experience. Furthermore, no special physical condition is required.
Tronador Gourmet – Aventure & Wine
Cerro Tronador is one of the main areas in the region, not only because it is the highest mountain surrounding Bariloche, but also because of its many glaciers and its unique eco-system.
It takes approximately two hours to reach Pampa Linda.
For around an hour and fifteen minutes, we pass by rivers and forests until we reach the junction of different paths.
We then head towards Valle del Castaño Overo, where a 45 minutes walk will allow us to see marvelous natural scenery: a hanging glacier, plenty of waterfalls making this area both spectacular and peculiar.
A three course lunch will be served while music will play in the background.
Walking is on gentle terrain and we do not pass by exposed slopes.
The ascent takes around two hours, and the descent is also two hours.
Optional: horseback riding returning from the Glacier Castaño Valley: one and a half hours instead of two hours walking.
Total time: between 8 to 19 hours.
Cerro Tronador
South of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, near the Gutierrez and Mascardi Lakes, we find
the fusion of the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans.
Keeping our tour near the Mascardi Lake, we will see the raging rapids of the Manso River, the viewpoint of Corazon Island (Piuke Huapi), until we reach Pampa Linda, the Negro blizzards and finally to the base of the impressive Cerro Tronador (3554 metres / 8202 feet) and the spectacular and astonishing glaciers.
Circuito Chico - Mini Circuit
This tour of the south side of the Nahuel Huapi Lake is beautiful and visitors can see Playa Bonita (Pretty Beach), Huemul Island, Island of the Chickens, Bahia Serena and Campanario Mountain.
We also visit El Trebol Lagoon and walk along a bridge over the Moreno Lake, arriving at an impressive panoramic viewpoint.
We then have time to rest and after we move on to Bahia Lopez, and the majestic Llao Llao Hotel, Puerto Pañuelo and San Eduardo Chapel.
The traditional Llao Llao Hotel is one of the most outstanding places in the region and Puerto Pañuelo is the main port of Nahuel Huapi Lake.
Finally, we go to Campanario Mountain and take a 10 minute chair-lift that take us to the peak, where there is a charming alpine bar and restaurant. You will have a
360° view of the area, stretching as far as your eyes can see.
This Mini Circuit also offers the visitor a chance to see regional traditions, such as
knitting of Patagonian wool, candles and other native handy craft objects.
Circuito Grande - Large/Major Circuit
This is a 250 kilometres (155 miles) tour and takes a whole day.
Using the shore-line road by the Limay River from its beginning to the confluent at Traful River we visit an array of natural attractions. A natural amphitheater provides us with an impressive setting, and you will also discover the fascinating Enchanted Valley,
la Confluencia and Cuyin Manzano.
We then cross the ancient bridge over the Minero River to reach the Traful view terrace from where we can take in the beauty of the Lake. This magnificent viewpoint stands perched from a height of 70 metres (220 feet) above the water surface.
By the same road, we will arrive to Traful Village, Arrayan Port - with its sandy beaches and then Portezuelo.
Lastly we return to Bariloche by the spectacular Seven Lakes Drive, visiting Villa La Angostura and the Nahuel Huapi Lake.
